There was an angel on the Tube. At Piccadilly Circus, amidst the commuters and tourists and teenagers, against the dank backdrop of the grimy tiled walls and dirty floors, there was an angel. Travelling alone for some reason, I, waiting for a train on the same platform as him, stood clutching my gloves and staring as politely as I could.
